Create a satellite

A new satellite can be created for SaVoir by using the orbit wizard. The wizard copies information (ex. orbit state vectors or sun synchronous orbit parameters) from an existing satellite and accepts user input where applicable.

To create a new satellite start the wizard by selecting Orbit Wizard ... from the Edit/Wizards... menu), enter in a new satellite name and follow the wizard's steps to completion.

The following orbit types are available

• Sun Synchronous

• Exact Repeat

• Geostationary

• Two Line Elements

• Orbit State Vector

• Orbit File

• Historical

The Orbit wizard allows you to optionally define a seed satellite that will be used to fill default orbit parameters and as a pattern for the sensors and other configurations of the new satellite.
